Cristy Simmons was born in Manitoba,where she grew to love many forms of art. She began to draw from a very young age and dabbled in many other art forms. Today she is an established Photographer and carver with the assistance of Sundog Retreats beginner carving program where she is being taught by Kelvin Morburg of the Teslin first nations in the Yukon and Eugene Alfred who is a world renowned Carver and he was taught by Dempsey Bob. This is not the first time Cristy has done any craving, infact she has done Ice, snow and bark carving before. Currently Cristy is expanding her mediums from just wood to now antler and hide.
